Question: Throwing Stars at the Devils?
And We have (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with lamps, and we have made such (Lamps as) missiles to drive away Satans, ... -- Sura 67:5
We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars, (for beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious Satans. (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side. -- Sura 37:6-8
See also Suras 15:16-18, 55:33-35 etc. which seem to speak about the same thing.
The stars were created by Allah as missiles to throw at the devils? In order to not let them eavesdrop on the heavenly coucil? Not exactly a "scientific" world view.
Answer: We have to agree there is a scientific world and world beynod our science. Examples of the latter is the creation from non-existence, the dead who becomes alive again, the demons, angels and souls that in other medium that beyond our vision, the miralces of prophets, Christ and the virgin Mary, casting out demons by Jesus and others, visions and so forth. Even angels and jinn can come to our medium and can be seen. Our logic and science is our way to prove that Quran is from God. Then we are ought to believe in the unseen of religion. There is no other Arab or anyone came during the last 1426 years to challange the world with a Quran like the one we have. Non-Muslims were not able to bring a similar and Muhammd never known to read or write. Quran is believed equally by very scientific Muslims and illitrate Muslims. If you hit in google photos of jinn you will find that some people were able to picture them.
37:6 We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,- إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاء الدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ الْكَوَاكِبِ
37:7 (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits, وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ مَّارِدٍ
37:8 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, لَا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى الْمَلَإِ الْأَعْلَى وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ
67:5 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles (sends balls of fire) to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire.
وَلَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاء الدُّنْيَا بِمَصَابِيحَ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا رُجُومًا لِّلشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ السَّعِيرِ
In the book of revelation it is described that a war between the angels and demons will happen in heaven near end of time. Your brain is your ride to accept religion. After you come to the faith that the Bible and Quran from God you accept the unseen as facts. If Quran had stated that Jesus is a divine son of God all Muslims will happily worship him and prophet Muhammad would be the first to do that:
43:81 Say: "If ((Allah)) Most Gracious had a son, I would be the first to worship."
قُلْ إِن كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَنِ وَلَدٌ فَأَنَا أَوَّلُ الْعَابِدِينَ
