Contradictions In The Quran: Can Angels Disobey?

Question: Can Angels Disobey?
About the angels: For NONE are arrogant (before their Lord). They ALL fear their Lord, high above them, and they do ALL they are commanded. -- Sura 16:49-50
And behold, we said to the ANGELS: "Bow down to Adam". And THEY bowed down, EXCEPT Iblis. He refused and was haughty. -- Sura 2:34
The command of Allah is given to the angels. Since Iblis is accused of not being obedient, he has to be one of the angels.
Contradicting 16:50, he refused = is disobedient, and is haughty = arrogant (before his Lord).

Answer: Satan or Iblis was not an angel (created of light) he was a jinn (created from fire). He was in the high court of God which is mostly of angels. Suppose a room have 50 girls and one boy (Adel) and all stood up when the teacher entered the room except the boy. It would be appropriate to say that all girls stood up when the teacher entered the room except Adel he refused to stand up. This does not mean that Adel is a girl too but it means he did not do the same like all other girls and stand up to the teacher. Satan had high place like the angels before he disobied God.
