When you read the Quran you feel that the words are too powerful for a man to make it up. The thing astonishes me as well is the feeling that God talk to us in the Quran as he in heaven looking down at us. Examine these verses and think about it:
- "Your Guardian-Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority): He draweth the night as a veil o'er the day, each seeking the other in rapid succession: He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, (all) governed by laws under His command. Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds!" (Qur'an, 7:54). You feel God above us created the heavens and earth and established himself on the throne. He is above us sees the days and nights in succession. The sun, moon and stars governed by laws under his command. Is not his to create and govern???.
- "And it is We Who have constructed the heaven (universe) with hands (might), and verily, it is We Who are steadily expanding it". (Qur'an, 51:47). You feel that God in the center or above the universe he threw the universe with his hand and it continues to expand.
- "[I swear] by Heaven with its cyclical systems," (Qur'an, 86:11). He sees down all the heavenly bodies are rotating in cyclic systems.
- "And I swear by the stars' positions-and that is a mighty oath if you only knew." (Qur'an, 56:75-76). He knows it is under him. We only recently did see it and appreciate it.
- "When the stars are extinguished," (Qur'an, 77:8). The collapsed stars are known as black holes. Because, the light of these collapsed stars disappears. Light cannot escape from a black hole because it is such a high concentration of mass in a small space. This we can barely see it with telescope.
- "He it is Who shows you the lightning causing fear and hope and (Who) brings up the heavy cloud. And the thunder declares His glory with His praise, and the angels too for awe of Him; and He sends the thunderbolts and smites with them whom He pleases, yet they dispute concerning Allah, and He is mighty in prowess." (Qu'ran, 13:11-13). You feel his tremendous power above us and showing us the wander of the clouds, thunder and lightning.
- "You see the mountains you reckoned to be solid going past like clouds." (Qur'an, 27:88). We see the clouds moving in one direction and he sees the earth spinning in the opposite direction.
- "He has created the Heavens and the Earth for Truth. He wraps the night up in the day, and wraps the day up in the night." (Qur'an, 39:5)
It is like God above us sees the rounded shape of the earth and the day and night as they wrap on each other over this globe.
- "We made the sky a preserved and protected roof yet still they turn away from Our Signs. (Qur'an, 21:32). You get the feel that the earth atmosphere as he sees it from above protect things from heaven to come down in earth and destroy it. like meteors and harmful light rays and radiations.
- "It is Allah Who created the heavens with no support-you can see them-and cast firmly embedded mountains on the earth so that it would not move under you, and scattered about in it creatures of every kind. And We send down water from the sky and make every generous plant grow in it, in pairs." (Qur'an, 31:10) It feels like he is above seeing his heaven with no support but physical forces that keep the stars from falling on us. The mountains look to him embedded on the earth working as pillars that we do not see so the earth stays firm. The words scattered and send down water also gives you the feeling he is talking to us from heaven.
